Tales From South Florida
Alligator Alley
Text me your favorite South Florida memory.
It used to be that there was only one way to get from Southwest Florida to Southeast Florida, and it took forever. In 1968 a new road opened that allowed for high-speed travel coast-to-coast. You just had to not mind 80 miles of a dangerous two-lane road laden with snakes, panthers and alligators.
Original names tossed around were the Everglades Parkway, Swamp Pike and Alligator Lane but there was really only one choice.
On this episode of Tales From South Florida it's the Tale of Alligator Alley.
